What is the first thing you think when you hear "Rawon Kalkulator" (Calculator Rawon)? It sounds interesting for us and make us more curious about what food it is. So, here it is! Rawon Kalkulator served with salty egg (telor asin), best when you eat it at night! Why? Because when the weather is a bit cold, the warmness of the sauce will perfectly warm your body! It's okay too if you eat it in afternoon by the way, that was just our personal thoughts. Hahaha.

For your information, this "warung" is already established for more than 36 years until now! Wow, that's so amazing, isn't it? We know, you guys will think "What makes it different from any other rawon??"

Just like any other rawon, rawon kalkulator is (of course) black. And oh, the colour of this food often scare foreigners when they see this food for the first time. So, for foreigners out there, this food is so yummy and you don't need to be scared, okay? The colour comes from Indonesian traditional spice called "kluwek", it's totally okay and really, you have to try it someday! Hahaha.

So, back to rawon kalkulator. In one portion, the meat is quite big, soft, and the seasoning is just perfect! The price is so affordable and there are many Indonesian side dishes like gorengan tempe, krupuk udang, perkedel, telor asin, paru dan gorengan. Yum! So, what makes it different from any other rawon??

Their difference from any other rawon is their name which comes from the habit of the sellers who can count fastly and precisely without any calculator! Because the calculator is their brains maybe. Hahaha. Yay! History found!

So, the conclusion is you really need to try this if you don't want to miss the original taste of Indonesian Rawon! Really really recommended!
